About the event
An elderly person who wishes to contribute to their local community can visit a school in their area and spend an afternoon talking to the children about their amazing life experiences and memories. The children (and teachers!) get to hear fascinating stories from the past and benefit from years of wisdom for free. This is hugely popular activity that we wish to expand in order to get even more elderly individuals engaging with schools.
Please note, we are currently collecting expressions of interest for Wisdom Days. If you are an elderly person interested in hosting a Wisdom Day, or know somebody who is, please let us know by registering here and selecting the date that you would be interest in. Similarly, if you are a member of staff at a school interested in inviting an elderly person to host a Wisdom Day to your class, please follow the same steps and register your interest here. A member of SOUP will respond in due course.
